As founder, president, and CEO, Dr. Beracochea leads Realizing Global Health (RGH)’s consulting work. She is a trainer, coach and mentor that inspires her colleagues to achieve measurable results in global health.  She designs innovative solutions to health system problems and implements healthcare delivery procedures that improve health delivery outcomes.

Dr Beracochea believes that every person has the right to quality healthcare services. So that every solution she designs helps protect, promote and restore health service delivery to every citizen in the catchment arear,  and leads to improved indicators of health.  Her  solutions are  designed to be rights-based, that is,  her technical approach to public health challenges helps fulfill the right to health of those not yet covered or not served with quality services. She specializes in improving the effectiveness of global health initiatives, projects and organizations. Known to her peers as a coach and mentor, Dr. Beracochea has more than two decades of experience as a physician, international health care consultant, hospital manager, health policy advisor, lecturer, and researcher, and helps other professionals advance in their careers, write their first book or transition to a new position that better meets their skills and experience. She is a prolific writer and author of several reports and articles and books, and coaches and mentors other global health authors.

Dr Beracochea has served on the board of Christian Connections for International Health (CCIH), the board of the Small Business Association of International Companies, and has co-led the International Health Group at the Society for International Development, Washington. She was honored with the 2009 Distinguished Section Service Award for her many and outstanding contributions to the International Health Section of the American Public Health Association. In 2014, she received the Mid-Career Award in recognition of her achievements International Health by the International Health Section of the American Public Health Association.

Dr Beracochea received her MD from the Medical Faculty of the University of the Republic of Uruguay and her MPH from the School of Public Health and Community Medicine at Hadassah Hebrew University in Israel. Dr Beracochea has worked in over 60 different countries, has managed hospitals, international development projects and designed and evaluated global health projects. She has lectured in Epidemiol0logy, Biostatistics and Research Methods as well as Health Systems Improvement in University Hospital in Uruguay, the University of Papua New Guinea, George Mason University, and New York Medical College. She speaks English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.

Dr Beracochea is available for consulting assignments that help improve health system results, deliver quality integrated and efficient health services and that in general require  an innovative and effective ways to deliver global health technical assistance.  She is also available for speaking engagements.
